The material of this study consisted of a 5.5 month old male Golden Retriever dog. Following clinical and radiological examination of the case avulsion fracture of the tibial tuberosity was diagnosed. In the radiological diagnosis, the necessity that avulsion of the tibial tuberosity should not be confused with growth plate separation in young dogs was stressed. Two Kirschner pins and a figure of eight tension-band wire technique was applied in this operation. The required particular points were explained for post-operative care.
