In this study, we evaluated the data from individuals who applied to out-patient clinics in Fırat Medical Center from 1996 to 1998 and suspected of tuberculosis, retrospectively. All individuals were classified into different groups in regard with their ages and sexes. In sera of the cases, immunoglobulin G and M (IgG, IgM) against Mycobacterium tuberculosis antigens were determined by using ELISA as described by manufacturers (Alpha biotech, Immunodiagnostics, Clark). No difference was found in IgG seropositivity of female and male populations. However, when compared IgM seropositivity in female population (12%) to male population (8.8%) it was high in a manner of statistical significance (p<0.05). Taken consider into frequency of cases, and percentages in regard with age groups of seropositive and seronegative cases, no statistical significance amongst age groups was observed.
