The aim of this study was to examine the effects of the rope and weighed rope on the physical and physiological parameters of the basketball players.

Subjects of the rope group (n=12) and weighed rope group (n=12) were trained (within rope and weighed rope programme) three times (days) a week during eight weeks after one week preperatory rope training as well as technical training. Subjects of the control group were trained only technically three times (days) a week during eight weeks. Statistically analysis of the received data is done in SPSS 10.0 programme with t-test, anova and multi comparison tests on the 0,05 and 0,01 levels.

As a result a significant increase was recorded in the height, aerobic power, anaerobic peak, average power, vertical and horizontal jump, medicine ball throw with two hands and medicine ball push with the right and left hands parameters of the experiment groups. While a significant decrease in body fat percentage, hexagon agility and 10m. sprint was recorded; resting heart rate, anaerobic average power, medicine ball throw with two hands, medicine ball push with the right and left hands and 10 m. sprint parameters of the weighed rope group improved more. In the control group anaerobic peak power, medicine ball throw with two hands and hexagon agility parameters improved significantly; where as, the improvements of the body weight, flexibility and 30 m. sprint parameters in the experiment and control groups were not found statistically significant.
