Present study was aimed to determine the histochemical properties of uropygial gland of quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica) during 13th, 15th and 17th days of incubation and periods a week after incubation. Nothing area of uropygial gland was showed positive reaction opposite to Sudan Black B and Best's Carmin methods in 13th and 15th days of incubation. Hidrophobic lidips were found dominant in Nile Blue Sulphate method to 13th day of incubation. Fosfolipid showed weak reaction in epithelia and edge cells of tubules surrounded around of central lumen in17th day of incubation than 15th day of incubation. It was detected that esters and trigliserids in layers near in the glycogen region detected in glycogen intertubuler connective tissue and in cells existed in the glycogen region of uropygial glands during a week period. The existance of free fatty acids in tubules in the sebaceous region and phospholipids cells in the lining central cavity of uropygial glands were determined.
