Presence of Listeria monocytogenes and Salmonella spp. in Şavak Tulum Cheese |

In this study, in Şavak tulum cheese which were sold in Elazig province was examined for the presence of L. monocytogenes and Salmonella spp. For this purpose, 100 tulum cheese was used. L. monocytogenes was not found in any of the samples analyzed. However, Salmonella spp. Was detected in 12 (12%) tulum cheese samples. As a result, it was concluded that tulum cheese samples were produced under unhygienic conditions and that pose a potential threat in terms of public health.
