In this study, effects of pollen on immunological parameters in carp (Cyprinus carpio) were investigated. The fish were divided into four groups as one control group and three experimental groups. While no procedure was applied to the control group, phosphate buffer saline (PBS) was injected intraperitoneally to another group. The fish in the remaining two groups were injected intraperitoneally with 1 mg/kg and 10 mg/kg fish doses of pollen. Blood samples were taken from the caudal peduncle of the fish on 3rd, 7th and 10th days after injection. Leucocyte count, oxidative radical production (nitroblue tetrazolium-NBT activity) and total immunoglobulin levels were analysed in blood samples. When compared to the control group, statistically significant increase in immunological parameters of the pollen treated groups were detected on the 3rd, 7th and 10th days of the experiment (P<0.05). When pollen groups were compared with each other, immunological parameters were found to be different on the 3rd, 7th and 10th days of the experiment (P<0.05).
