Stallion reproductive health is crucial for sustainable genetic progress and the success of breeding programs. Functional andrological disorders, such as loss of libido, erectile dysfunction, ejaculatory problems, and undesirable sexual behaviors, can negatively affect both natural mating and artificial insemination. This review discusses the etiology, clinical characteristics, diagnostic approaches, and current therapeutic strategies related to these disorders. Diagnostic evaluation involves behavioral observations, hormonal analyses, ultrasonography, and consideration of environmental factors. Treatment options include behavioral management, environmental modifications, pharmacological agents (diazepam, imipramine, GnRH analogs, altrenogest), hormonal interventions, and pharmacological induction of ejaculation. In addition, strategies for suppressing and controlling undesirable sexual behaviors are examined. The stallion’s age, previous experiences, and physical condition are considered as the key factors in treatment planning. In conclusion, this review compiles current diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to the management of functional andrological disorders in stallions, providing guidance for both clinical practice and future research.
