This trial was conducted the determination of the effects of both indoor-outdoor conditions and normal and high energy levels of the rations on fattening performances, slaughtering and carcass characteristics on Holstein bulls aged 10 months.

The experiment groups consisting seven animals in each were 1. Sheltered outdoor- normal energy level , 2. Sheltered outdoor- high energy level, 3. Indoor - normal energy level and 4. Indoor - high energy level. The experiment lasted for 224 days. The roughage portion of the rations were dry herb and lucerne. The consantrates used of the rations consisted from 109 to 87.6 DCP and 547 NB energy (normal) and 669 NB energy (high).

The mean starting body weights for the experimental groups were 204.7, 204.9, 204.7 and 204.4 kg, respectivelly. Final weights were 447.7, 461.0, 429.9 and 428.4 kg in the above order. The average daily gains in the normal and high energy levels were 1.071 and 0.988 kg in sheltered outdoors, 1.050. and 1.000 kg in indoors.

The slaughtering and carcass characteristics were determined on two animals in each group. Finally, the effects of indoor outdoor conditions and energy levels of rationand on fattening performance, slauhtering and carcas characteristics were all similar
