Evaluation of COVID-19 Phobia Situations in Medical Students

Objective: This study aims to determine the phobia status of term 5 and term 6 medical students who are practising face to face in the clinics and to take necessary precautions for the students.

Materials and Methods: 311 students participated in the study on a voluntary basis. The first part consists of 17 questions measuring sociodemographic data and the person's situation regarding the COVID-19 outbreak, and the second part is the COVID-19 Phobia Scale (C19P-S) questionnaire to evaluate the COVID-19 phobia status of the participants.

Results: COVID-19 Phobia Scale total score of 311 samples consisted of 135 male and 176 female students participating in the study, was 47.09±13.49, and sub-dimension scores were as follows: psychological 18.46±5.74, somatic 8.84±3.49, social 12.48±4.14, economic 7.30±2.71.

Conclusion: In the study conducted according to the COVID-19 Phobia Scale, an elevation in the sub-dimensions and overall coronophobia levels was found in the medical faculty Term 5 and Term 6 students.
