In this study, a total of 40 chickens, with their ages ranging from 2 to 8 years, collected each as a group of 20 from the near ( 4 km, group-1 ) and the distant ( 20- 25 km, group-2 ) vicinity of Elazığ cement factory were examined.

Macroscopically, irregulary shaped, gray colored spots were observed in lungs of the chickens collected near the factory. These changes in color were also present on the cut surface of the tissues.

Microscopically, pigment granules with grayish blue color were observed around and inside of secondary bronchi and parabronchus or in the cytoplasm of machrophages. Fibrosis was determined around the highly pigmented parabronchus. However chickens collected from distant region of cement factory did not show neither macroscopical nor microscopical findings.
