Electrocardiography is the most widely used laboratory test in cardiology.

Many times electrocardiographic findings alone are used in diagnosis of cardiac diseases. However it is insufficient at present. The electrocardiographic findings should be aided with laboratory findings of their relation to the clinical diagnosis of heart disesae. Only Base-Apex ( BA ) and V10 lead of reference values for the interpretation of the ECG in the cattle are available.
