This study was conducted to investigate the influence of intrauterine antibiotic treatment on the conception rate of cows inseminated artificially two or more time after parturition and normal dairy cows.

The study population was consisted of 120 Holstein cows. The cows were separated into two groups; normal cows and cows inseminated artificially two or more time after parturition. Each of group was divided into three subgroups; the first was control group, the second group was subjected to intrauterine antibiotic treatment immediately after artificial insemination, and the third group was treated 20 min later following artificial insemination.

The conception rates of normal cows were 60, 70 and 75 % in the control, second and the third groups respectively. The conception rates of cows inseminated artificially two or more time after parturition 55, 65 and 70 % in the control, second and the third groups respectively.

The differences between the conception rates of the control and treated groups in both normal cows and cows inseminated artificially two or more time after parturition were not statistically significant (p > 0.05).
