In this review, toxic compounds found in snake venoms were studied. Biochemical structures, pharmacological and toxicological aspects of these compounds were mentioned. Detailed information about neurotoxins that have fatal effects were given in particular. In addition brief information about cardiotoxins and toxins having destructive effects on the tissue were given.
