Daily Motility of Ram Semen Which Stored at refrigerator (4ºC), Diluted with Yolk + Milk Powder, Yolk + Sodium citrat and Yolk + Sodium citrat + Glycose.

This investigation was made to estimate the daily motility of ram semen that were diluted with Yolk + Milk Powder, Yolk + Sodium citrat and Yolk + Sodium citrat + Glycose solution and stored at refrigerator (4ºC).

Six rams at the age 2-3 years were used as material and maintained on F. Ü. Veterinary Faculty Research and Application Livestock Farm. From each ram 5 ejaculates were collected every other day using an artificial vagina during October and November in 1995.

From the each ejaculates 0.2 ml was transferred to 3 different tubes and diluted with Yolk + Milk Powder, Yolk + Sodium citrat and Yolk + Sodium citrat + Glycose solutions. Prior to storage at refrigerator (4ºC) the first motility estimation was made. Afterwards motility estimation on the ram semen kept in refrigerator were repeated once a 24 h for 240 hours.

Ram semen which diluted yolk + sodium citrat + glycose was the best one than the other diluter. The motility results of 96. hours of diluted ram semen which diluted with, yolk + sodium citrat + glycose, yolk + sodium citrat and yolk + milk powder was found as % 49 ± 3.48, % 31 ± 2.86 and % 30 ± 3.12 respectively at short period storage so this result show that ram semen were not used for insemination after 3 days storage.
