This study was aimed to investigate that effect of 10 weeks regular walking exercise to some physical fitness parameters of older people. In this study, 12 old men were in the exercise group, and 15 old men in control group.

All subjects’ (experimental and control group) pre-test and post-test physical fitness parameters were measured as following; height, weight, hand grip, percent body fat, BMI, vital capacity, resting minute heart rate, reaction time, flexibility. To experiment group it was applied that three days in a week 30 minutes walking exercise during 10 weeks. Pre-test and post-tests were applied to experiment group before and after one week. Mean and standard deviations was taken for all all variables, and in evaluating the results, t-test statistical method were used (P<0.05)

In pre-exercise, Although there was similarities between experimental groups’ and control groups’ pretest, as a result of 10-week-exercise the following results were found significant differences in experimental group; weight (t=4,05), vital capacitiy (t=-2,43), flexibility (t=-1.69), in reaction time right hand light (t=3,49), left hand light (t=3,42) and right hand sound (t=3,73), left hand sound (t=3,27). Although there was not significant difference in other parameters, all of parameters showed positive changes.

There was no significant diffrence in the physical fitness measurements results of control group pre-and post-test scores.

In conclusion, all of olders’ physical fitness parameters whom participating to regular physical activities was obtained positive effects. For this reason, ıt was concluded that there will be need to exercise for olders to get them to make easily their daily activities and increase happiness from life and to develop exercise programme for suitable for individuals and groups.
