The aim of this study was to determine the inhibition effect of L-lysine and L- ornithine on arginase activity in cattle kidney tıssue.

The kidney tissue used in the present study were obtained from the Elkas sloughterhause in Elazıg. The thiosemicarbazide- diacetylmonoxime urea (TDMU) method was used to measure arginase activity. Protein was measured by the method of Lowry et al. The Km and Vmax values of arginase were assessed according to Michaelis Menten and Linewearver- Burk graphics.

The inhibition effect of L-lysine and L- ornithine on arginase activity in cattle kidney tıssue were studied at first time and these amino acids inhibited the enzim activity competetively-noncompetetively (mixed).
