The aim of this presentation is to report right supracondyler femoral fracture and its surgical treatment in a newborn Simental breed male calf presented to Surgery Clinic, Veterinary Faculty, Firat University.

It was determined that the calf tried to walk on three legs, had regional deformity on the right femur and possessed short right hind leg. Clinical and radiographic examinations revealed supracondyler femoral fracture.

The case underwent surgery and the fracture was immobilized with intramedullar femoral fixation by placing two 5 no Steinmann pins with retrograd approach. The related leg was bandaged with PVC enforced splint from the hoof up to the hip joint, which was renewed at the 15th day of the surgery. From clinical and radiographic findings assessed at 15 days intervals, the calf was determined to have a full recovery 3 months after surgery.
