Ultrasonographic diagnosis of fetal death after trauma in a pregnant bitch

Clinical and B-mode - Doppler usg findings of fetal death after trauma in six-week pregnant bitch were present in this case. In 15th hour following trauma there is no pathological findings of bitch and/or fetuses in the primary and usg examinations. During ultrasonography in 2nd and 3rd day after trauma, the fetal death findings were detected in three fetuses. Although there were two alive fetuses in 4th day, it was decided that termination of pregnancy via aglepristone cause by getting infection and no expulsion of death fetuses. Intrauterine health condition following abortion was detected with ultrasonographic examinations every other day. Bitch conceived in subsequent estrus with no problem and labored four healthy puppies. As a conclusion, the daily ultrasonographic examination has importance for detecting of maternal and fetal health status in case which has abortion risk. Even if maternal health condition is seems normally, patients should be examined periodically.
