Effects of Dietary Supplementation of β-Carotene on Tissue MDA Level of Juvenile Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss, W. 1792)

In this study, the effect of beta-carotene (β-carotene) supplement to diets of rainbow trout fry on the levels of malondialdehyde (MDA) formation in the serum, muscle, liver and kidney tissues was examined. For this purpose; the control, β30 and β70 groups were formed by preparing the diets with β-carotene 0, 30 and 70 mg/kg. According to the results obtained from analysis, it was determined that the MDA level in serum and muscle tissue of the groups fed diets with β-carotene were significantly (P<0.05) lower than the control group, and the difference between MDA levels of liver and kidney tissues of the groups were not statistically significant.
