A Case of Chondrosarcoma in a Dog

In this study, costal radiated chondrosarcoma case was identified in 6-years-old male Kurzhaar dog. The neoplasm was totally extirpated that was detected with clinical examination on the left side of the chest. Macroscopic examination evaluated the tumor mass was 16x10x4 cm in size and 280 g in weight. Tumor section was dirty white surface, granular structure and especially the center of the mass was in viscous appearance. In microscopic exam; high cellularity, nuclear atypia, mitotic cells, a chondroid stroma and multi-nucleus cells showing clear pleomorphism in the lacunaes were seen. According to the macroscopic and microscopic findings the case was diagnosed as chondrosarcoma. This case was thought to be clinically and histopathologically evaluated and reported because it is a rarely seen type of tumor.
