The common usage of B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) tests in humans is to differentiate cardiac dyspnea from non-cardiac and more studies have been performed on veterinary field based on this in recent times. However, there is still a need for new studies to reach reliable data because the exact values for he disease have not yet been established. In this study; clinical, blood tests, radiographic, electrocardiographic and echocardiographic analysis has been applied. Study group consist of 20 dogs with dyspnea (10 dogs with cardiac dyspnea and 10 dogs with non-cardiac (respiratoric) dyspnea and control group consist of 10 healthy dogs. As a result, ST depression was observed (0.2±0.005) on electrocardiography of the dogs with cardiac dispnea and was statistically significant P<0.05). In addition, a decrease in ejection fraction (EF) and fractional shortening (FS) values (respectively 66.62±13.35%, 31.53±9.76%) on echocardiography, which were not statistically significant were detected. Plasma troponin I was increased in the cardiac dyspnea group (0.13±0.03 ng/mL), but these changes were not statistically significant. In conclusion, expected results could not be obtained due to the use of Immuno Assay Ratatoric test kits and device which is manufactured for human use to determine troponin I / NT-proBNP levels.
