In this study,200 broiler chicks,23-42 days old with right ventricular hypertrophy and ascites were examined macroscopically and microscopically. Macroscopically, considerable amount of transudate,in yellowish colour and coagulated when exposed to air in abdominal, thoracal and pericardial cavity was noted. Enlargement and red-bluish colour of the liver,severe dilatation and right ventricular hypertrophy in the heart,oedema and congestion in lungs were also observed. Microscopically, hyperaemia, hemorrhage, sinusoidal dilatation and degeneration in hepatocytes were detected. Inter and intramuscular oedema,degeneration and necrosis in muscle fibers in the right ventriculum of heart and oedema and hemorrhage in lungs were also detected.
