The aim of this study was to determine the levels of magnesium (Mg), manganese (Mn), copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), selenium (Se) and molybdenum (Mo) in the blood serum of dogs with Leishmania infantum (L. infantum). The material of the study consisted of 14 dogs with L. infantum and 10 healthy dogs. Detection of anti L. infantum antibodies ELISA test was performed. Serum mineral levels were determined by an Inductively Coupled Plasma-Optical Emission Spectrometer (ICP-OES). Although serum Zn, Se and Mo levels were decreased and Cu levels increased in dogs with Leishmaniasis compared to the healthy dogs, only Zn level was statistically significant. As a result, it was revealed that the serum Zn level was decreased in dogs with leishmania.
