In this study, effects of warfarin, aspirin and sulfanilamide, which are used for prevention of coagulation, were evaluated on protrombin time in mice. For this purpose, mice were separated into four groups each having 24 mice. Mice in group 1, control group, were fed without warfarin, aspirin and sulfanilamide during the study period. Aspirin 100 mg/kg b.w. and warfarin %0.025 were given to second group; sulfanilamide 250 mg/kg b.w and warfarin %0.025 were given to third group and a combination of 100 mg/kg b.w. aspirin, %0.025 warfarin and 250 mg/kg b.w sulfanilamide were given to fourth group by oral route incorporated into feed. Protrombin time was determined in the blood collected at 2, 4, 8, 16, 24, 48 and 72 hours by using commercial kits. In the fourth group, all mice died at 48 hours, for this reason protrombin time was not determined at 72 hours in this group. The results were shown that, when these three substances (aspirin, warfarin, and sulfanilamide) combined, the most effective results were observed.
