This research was carried out to determine the body characteristics of the Şavak Akkaraman genotype. In the study, 80 heads of second-born females and 20 heads of 3-4 years old males were used. Body measurements were taken in April-May before the sheep went out to the pasture. For this purpose, male (1 head) and female (4 heads) materials belonging to 20 different farms were used. Body measurements were determined using a measuring stick and measuring tape. Head lengths of females and males respectively were found to be 25.41 and 28.24 cm, forehead widths were 13.14 and 14.93 cm, ear lengths were 16.78 and 16.26 cm, ear widths were 8.59 and 8.62 cm, neck lengths were 27.29 and 29.95 cm, withers heights were 69.97 and 78.86 cm, ridge heights were 69.19 and 77.26 cm, rump heights were 68.76 and 76.21 cm, chest depths were 36.14 and 40.71 cm, chest widths were 20.56 and 23.88 cm, chest circumferences were 107.78 and 121.85 cm, rump widths were 20.80 and 24.09 cm, tail lengths were 34.97 and 39.31 cm, tail widths were 26.48 and 32.43 cm, body lengths were 71.63 and 80.74 cm, shank circumferences were 9.37 and 10.50 cm. As a result, based on this data, it was determined that the Şavak genotype has a larger size than some varieties of Akkaraman.
