This study was carried out to determine the relationships among carcass characteristics body weigth and various body measurements. Total of 25 male lambs were used in the study.

In this study, the phenotypic correlation coefficients between body weight and measurements were found generally positive and statistically significant in the all ages. The phenotypic correlation coefficients between body weight and some carcass traits were usually statistically insignificant in the other days although these values were found generally statistically significant at 400. days of ages. The phenotypic correlation coefficients between body measurements and some carcass traits were usually found negative in small and middle levels except 400. days.

In this study, we conclude that body measurements may be used for predicting body weight; determined body weight at 400. days may be used for predicting some carcass characteristics. Such as, at 400. days height at withers, height at rump, body length, chest width and rump width may be used for predicting the warm carcass weight; height at rump, body length, chest width and rump width may be used for predicting the cold carcass weight; rump width may be used for predicting total carcass fat weight; chest width may be used for predicting the cold carcass ratio.
