The aim of this study was to compare the growth and survival ability of Chios x Akkaraman crossbred (B₁ and B₂) lambs during suckling period.

The data were obtained from 58 B₁ and 52 B₂ crossbred lambs. Lambs were fed with alfalfa hay and concentrates.

The average birth weight of the lambs was 3.80 and 3.74 kg, the 45^th day-weight was 12.84 and 12.40 kg (P<0.05), the weaning (90^th day) weight was 19.34 and 18.21 kg (P<0.01) and the survival ability at weaning was 72.42% and 82.69% for B₁ and B₂ crossbred lambs, respectively.

B₁ crossbred lambs were determined to be superior to B₂ crossbreds in terms of live weight at various periods with the exception of birth weight. Significant superiorities of males over females and single births over twin births were also observed during the entire growth period.
