In this study, dogs were anaesthesied for 2 hours with two inhalation anaesthetics currently used in practice; enflurane and isoflurane, and with drop infusion technique of propofol, relatively a new anaesthetic for dogs. In thes 2 hour period, clinical, haematological and biochemical findings of dogs were recorded. This study was performed on a total of 15 crossbred dogs agin between 1-3 years and weighing between 18-26 kg.

When evaluating hematologic and biochemical findings, it was determined the presence of statistically significant increase in the number of erythrocytes and values of urea, kreatinin, suger, SGOT, SGPT and haematocrit in Enflurane group; the number of erythrocytes and values of suger, SGOT and leucocytes in Isoflurane group and the number of erythrocytes and values of kreatinin, suger and haematocrit values in porpofol group. But, among these parameters just values of suger and urea were observed to be much higger than their normal physiological ranges.
