In this case study, a stump pyometra-ovarian remnant syndrome (ORS) is presented in an 11-year old, 15 kg in weight, crossbreed female dog brought to Ankara University, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology with a history of vaginal discharge and increased sexual activity. Owner of the dog reported that the dog had an ovariohysterectomy operation 6 months prior to the day of clinical examination, and clinical symptoms have just started. The ultrasonographic examination revealed presence of right ovary and a piece of uterus. Moreover, vaginal cytological examination indicated intensive leucocyte infiltration and the metestrus findings. Following the general anesthesia, right ovary and remaining uterus tissue with its contents were removed by laparatomy.

In conclusion, it was reported that ORS could be diagnosed by abdominal ultrasonographic and vaginal cytological examinations. In addition, it was suggested that laparatomy could be beneficial in the treatment of ORS.
