Keywords: Broiler production, Broiler performance, Broiler cost

This study was carried out to investigate the effects of seasons on some performance traits of broiler production and determined the period in which production can be done economically.

Live material was consisted of ROSS PM3. This genotype was kept in the same poultry house for 42 days in June and November.

It was found that, at the end of the 6 weeks , average live weights were 1632.2 ± 9.06 and 1838.4 ± 13.50 in the period of June and November respectively. The difference between two groups was found to be statistically significant (p<0.01). Throughout the experiment, the average temperatures outside and inside the poultry house were statistically significant in both period (p<0.01).

At the end of sixth weeks feed efficiency was 1.88 and 1.83 in the first and second period respectively.

Moreover, throughout the production, mortality was 8.2 % in June period whereas in November period, it was 7.46 %. Broiler efficiency factors were 189 and 221 in the first and second period respectively.

As the economic outcome of the production in the experiment periods, total cost, gross and net profit and net profit per kg were found to be 349 782 420 TL, 374 666 420TL; 83 468 580 TL, 89 615 580 TL; 52 040 846 TL, 55 873 367 TL and 10930 TL- 10951 TL in the first and second period respectively.
