Histopathological Examination of Experimentally Induced Infectious Bronchitis Virus (IBV) Infection in Embryonic Chicken Eggs

Aim of this study is intruduction of macroscobic and microscobic findings of Infectious Bronchitis Virus (IBV) Infection in embryonated chicken eggs. In this study, 0.1 ml IBV type 274, diluted in 1/100, with a titre of EID50 10-4 was given to 60 SPF embriyonated 10-day old eggs by chorio allantoic fluid. Fifteen embriyonated eggs were kept as control group. During the study , a total number of 27 embryos died and there were not any remarkable macroscopic differences between the infected and control group embryos. In the microscopic examination, lesions were determined to occur from the 14th hatching day, particulary in lungs, liver and kidneys.
