In this study, it was aimed to investigate the possibility of natural fluor contamination that may result from Karamagra fluorite–molibdenite formations in Keban district.

In the study, a total of 21 water samples (1 from the Research and Application Farm of Fırat University and 20 from Keban district) and a total of 13 soil samples (1 from the Research and Application Farm of Fırat University, 7 from Keban district, 3 from brick factory located in Sivrice district, and 2 from Hicret suburb) were used.

In the present study, the fluor levels were determined to be between 0.11–23.0 in the water samples and 68.1–1188.1 ppm in soil samples.

It was concluded that although no risk of industrial contamination in Sivrice district and Hicret suburb was present, the water and soil samples at Keban district may possess a risk of natural fluorosis.
