A Subclinic Peste Des Petits Ruminants Case in a Lamb

The case was diagnosed in a 20 days old, male Akkaraman lamb brought to Veterinary Internal Medicine Clinic of Fırat University from Çiçekli Village, Derik, Mardin.

In clinical examination body temperature, respiration frequency and heart rate were 38.3ºC, 36/min and 116/min respectively. It was observed that the animal was emakiated, unreluctant to move, stagnant, exhausted and had a contracted abdomen and deflected back. Necrotic lesions and proliferations were observed in gingiva, tongue, cheeks and papul like lesions troughout the skin.

Samples (lymph nodes, spleen, liver and blood with anticoagulant) taken from the sacrified animal were sent to Etlik Veterinary Control and Research Institute through Elazıg Veterinary Control and Research Instıtute. The samples was diagnosed as PPR by immunocapture-ELISA for antigen.
