This study was performed to determine the histochemical properties and histological development in one week and adult quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica) lingual glands in 9th, 11th, 13th, 15 th, 17th days of incubation and after incubation. Lingual glands was determined to begin shaping in 11th day of incubation and none of applied histochemical reaction was observed during this period. The reaction in AB pH 0.5 and AB pH 1.0 staining methods was increased during the incubation but the reaction was decreased in the next period of incubation. Intensive neutral glycoconjugat was observed in anterior and posterior lingual glands especially the 17th day incubation and adult in PAS application. Acidic sulphate glycoconjugat found strongly in the posterior language in 15 and 17 days of Incubation was found less in the period after incubation. Quail posterior lingual glands in 17 day of incubation and adulthood were contained concentrated amounts of acidic glycoconjugat.
