The aim of our study was to investigate the bones constituting the columna vertebralis in the lynx (Lynx lynx). For this purpose 2 lynxes were used.

Ala atlantis parts were in horizontal position, a deep incisura alaris was present. Axis possessed a cylindrical dens extending to the front, while the processus spinosus of the third cervical vertebrae was a very small process, the fourth and fifth cervical vertebrae had a more higher processus spinosus. In both vertebrae, the crista ventralis was not prominent. In the sixth cervical vertebrae, the processus spinosus was high, the foramen transversarium was wide. In the seventh cervical vertebrae, while the processus spinosus was long and positioned towards caudal, the transversal processes were elongated ventrolaterally. In lynxes, there were 13 thoracal vertebrae and the eleventh vertebrae was observed as anticlinal. There were 7 lumbal vertebrae, the body of the vertebrae were in the pulley shape, the spinal processes were long and the transversal processes were also long, narrow and positioned towards cranial. In the first 5 lumbal vertebrae, there were accessory processes becoming smaller towards caudal. Sacrum was formed by the combination of 3 sacral vertebrae, the spinal processes were not combined.

In conclusion, in lynxes it was determined that the vertebrae have many spesific features.
