In this study, it was aimed to determine the effects of epidural anesthesia carried out by ketamine alone and its combinations with xylazine, medetomidine and dexmedetomidine, on hematological parameters of calves. In the study, 24 calves were divided into 4 groups. In the first group, 6 calves received ketamine at a dose of 2 mg/kg via epidural injection from the lumbosacral region as a control group. 6 calves in the second group received ketamine 2 mg/kg and xylazine 0.1 mg/kg, 6 calves in the third group received ketamine 2 mg/kg, medetomidine 0.015 mg/kg, 6 calves in the fourth group received ketamine 2 mg/kg, and dexmedetomidine 0.01 mg/kg. It was applied from the lumbosacral area. Blood samples were taken before anesthesia and at 15, 30, 60, 90 minutes of anesthesia and evaluated. Acidity, partial oxygen, partial carbon dioxide, sodium, potassium, chlorine, calcium and hematocrit levels in this venous blood were evaluated at specified intervals. When the anesthesia groups were evaluated in general, it was found that the group given ketamine 2 mg/kg and dexmedetomidine 0.01 mg/kg was determined that the change in hematological data was lower.
